After a full day of work, I don't know why I keep fooling around with the computer, but when I get home, I pretty much start another shift. I did some more work for Michael Mead's DanceSportComps.com, which should be deployed shortly. Laetitia did a lot over the past year, so my contributions are very light compared to what is in store for the public.
Then, I continue to tune ChampionBallroom.com, where I've been trying to get the calendar and photo gallery sections displaying to my liking. I think once all the functionality is there, we'll be putting a whole new skin together to mark the ballroom's 15th anniversary.
Also, I keep finding ways to mess with this blog. The Greymatter software is great, but I keep finding ways I'd like to mix the blog and static content a little better. I added a few videos, too, including a dance from U.S. DanceSport Chamionships, a clip from my Aikido black belt test, and a clip of me demonstrating tango in cotillion back in 1990... I was only 14! Funny stuff.

Bye Bye Cha Cha
Walking Cha Cha the Mini Schnauzer Tonight we'll be leaving Cha Cha at Champion Ballroom after we practice, where she can go back to living with her mommy and daddy. Even though there are some inconveniences in having her around, like her constant chewing on herself when we're trying to sleep, or having to take her out to go to the bathroom, when it's cold and I want to go to bed, I'm going to miss having her around. She's always lying on our big red chair waiting for us to come back... it's nice to have someone waiting to greet you.

Happy Easter
Easter weekend began with walking Cha Cha, which can be a challenge since she doesn't get along with other dogs very well, and there are a lot of dogs in our community. After her trip to the Vet, it turns out she has some kind of infected toe nail, and we have to give her antibiotics, and the she'll have to go back to the Vet in 2 weeks if she's not better.
Today, we took it easy, and went for a walk and watched the last of the 3 movies we rented this weekend... Open Water was not a very good movie, but Flight of the Phoenix and Stage Beauty were okay.
We just got home from the Santore family Easter dinner at the Boulder Knolls Observatory, where were got to catch up with Laetitia's parents and grandparents, as well as Newton and Kepler.
I don't feel like going back to work, like there should be some holiday or something... oh well, Happy Easter!

The Grumpy Old Lady

Anyway, we showed Mary, and she gave us the info for the vet, so I'm going to take her at some point this morning, so chances are they're going to install a tube somewhere, since that seems to be the fix for every animal that goes the vet with an infection... "We installed this drainage tube..." I guess I'll post back later with the results.

Easter Time Is Here
Looks like we're going to be in town for this Easter, hanging with Laetitia's family, and taking care of Mary Murphy's baby - Cha Cha the mini schnauzer. Too bad we don't get a Monday or a Friday off, because I'm starting to feel itchy about how long it has been since I've had a real vacation.
I put some new pictures up in the photos area, and it reminded me that it has been soooo long since our trip to France. We really need to go again soon, maybe when it's not winter and frickin' cold, but then again, it's nice to be with Family during the holidays, and Laetitia's Grandma, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins are great Family to spend time with.
I guess I kind of deviated from the subject of this entry, but I own this site, so I can break the rules.

Look Mom! No Cavities!!
So I went to the dentist this morning... the first time in almost 10 years. I was a little worried about what shape my teeth would be in, since even though I brush every day, flossing is something that my mom loves to lecture me about. Well, I came out completely fine! They even said my wisdom teeth, all four of them, seem to be okay, and I don't need to bother having them out unless they start bugging me. What a relief, and how nice it is to have insurance... thanks TechFlow big grin I even took this chance to ask about some corrections/fixes to some of my teeth, so long as they wouldn't take me out of commission from dancing. We'll see if I'm a brace-face any time soon.

Finally, something to see at PorfLand
It's been about two years since I gave up on porfirio.landeros.com and registered PorfLand.com. This area was great as a testing server for PHP, MySQL, and other web programming experiments. I'll continue to play around with that stuff behind the scenes, but I was still missing a place to post my latest news, photos, and important dates. I'm so glad I found this software "PERL-based" to run on my own site. Check back often, and I'll be updating this with news about work, family, and dancing! See you later... --Porfirio
