Last night Porfirio pulled out the good old yellow Lego castle 6075 from 1978. I got admonished for having taped the box shut because it is supposedly a "collector's item" so I went on eBay to prove him wrong, sure I was going to find 18 of them going for about 12 bucks each. I found one... listed for $297!!!!! I still have the original price sticker on the box - $32.99, pretty steep for 1978.
We spent the rest of the night putting the thing together and figuring out which parts were missing. I did find my missing She-Ra doll helmet, that was a load off my mind. So it turned out I had almost all the original parts, I was just missing a couple of bricks, which were easily ordered off the Lego pick a brick site. The fact that there is a web site where you can go browse and purchase Lego bricks individually by shape and color blows my mind.

Once the structure was complete, Pumpkin deemed the castle structurally sound and of sufficient quality that she would entrust the keep and care of her bone. We managed to talk her out of it, but she seemed somewhat dissatisfied at having to settle for the space between the couch cushions. What she's really thinking about in this picture is how she is going to enjoy buring her bone in my hair after I fall asleep.
Odds that at some point in the next week Pumpkin will hack up the black knight's head: 3-to-1 in favor.
