Bye to Oahu - Hello Maui - Swimming at Kapalua beach, Napili Bay...
On Wednesday,
we did laundry and said bye to Oahu, and a few minutes later
we found ourselves on Maui. We were received at the airport by a young chap holding a sign with Laetitia's name, who laid some leis on us and verified we knew what we were doing and then he was off. After we got the car, we set off for Wailea, which was a nice way to get an overview of some of the island. When we arrived in Wailea, Laetitia realized we should have been 20 miles a different direction in Lahaina (we stay in Wailea our last 2 nights). So, we got a little more driving in than expected, but what's the hurry? This island really does have a different vibe... so far the weather has been warm and windy. We got settled into the Hyatt Regency, and then went for a pizza dinner, which was hosted by a tiny stray cat (yes, that cat had free range of the restaurant).

Thursday, after
exploring the hotel for a bit, we went north to go swimming at the Naplili Bay. It was pretty cool! Again, this island has been very windy so far, but the water is still clear and the weather still warm. We took lots of pictures with the water-proof camera, so I'll have to get those developed and post them when we're back in San Diego.
