From Venice to Lyon

Here I am, in Lyon and Caroline's house, getting my blog on, on an AZERTY keyboard... The trip from Venice to Lyon went quite smoothly, and was very easy compared to the start of this grand escape. We had exit-row seats, a clean/new plane, and plenty of jus d'orange to make me happy :-)

Olivier picked us up from the airport, and we enjoyed the ride through the countryside and into Lyon, where we ended up at Caroline's - we also got to meet her German Pinscher, Daika!

Then it was off to shopping to stock up for our stay. What better place than Carrefour? Lots of "interesting" foods there... I think Laetitia's favorite isles were the cheese and chocolates. These stores put the Wal-Mart super stores to shame, since they seem to sell everything you can think of.

Dinner with Cousins in LyonAfter some rest back at Caroline's, all the cousins got together at L'OUEST, which had a great brewhouse atmosphere. It was Olivier, Sophie, Lauren, Cecille, and Caroline. I had the braised tuna; it was awesome, and creme brulee for dessert. Laetitia had some kind of fish that had to be beheaded and de-boned table-side, before she could have it in front of her; she shared a chocolatey-waffle dessert with Caroline. Good times!

Sunday morning, Caroline, Laetiita and I took Daika for a walk in the neighborhood... she was getting some Dog Whispering left and right. We returned to have a brunch with the cousins, tapas-style. That was some good variety. So, here we are... we have tomorrow to do some more exploring, and then we'll be getting ready for Biarritz.
